Do I have to be a San Diego resident to book?
No. Everyone is welcome to rent. “Locals’ Summer” celebrates the San Diego shoulder season, while any membership eligibility and current terms are shown on the Locals Pass page.
How early should I arrive?
Plan to arrive about 30 minutes early for normal rentals and 30 to 45 minutes early for large groups. Allow additional time for parking.
What should I bring to check-in?
Bring a government-issued photo ID and credit card. Guests must complete required waivers, applicable age documentation, and safety instruction.
Do I need a California Boater Card?
For applicable powered rentals, Mission Bay Sportcenter provides the required on-site safety instruction and temporary rental authorization process. Drivers must still meet the applicable age and eligibility requirements.
